

On November 5, 2009, a terrorist named Nidal Hasan attacked fellow soldiers and civilians at Fort Hood, TX. He killed 12 soldiers along with one civilian and wounded 43 others. Hasan was a US Army Major and a psychiatrist prior to the shooting.

– PFC Francheska Velez, 21, Chicago, IL (and unborn child)
– Lt. Colonel Juanita L. Warman, 55, Pittsburgh, PA
– PFC Kham See Xiong, 23, St. Paul, MN
Cahill along with several others died while trying to charge or deter the shooter.
Greene, Nemelka, Pearson, and Xiong along with 11 of the wounded were active CrossFit athletes in the 20th Engineer Battalion, home to Lumberjack CrossFit.
