On November 5, 2009, a terrorist named Nidal Hasan attacked fellow soldiers and civilians at Fort Hood, TX.  He killed 12 soldiers along with one civilian and wounded 43 others. Hasan was a US Army Major and a psychiatrist prior to the shooting.
This workout is in remembrance of the 12 soldiers and 1 civilian that lost their life that day:

– Staff Sgt. Justin M. DeCrow, 32, Plymouth, IN
– Captain John P. Gaffaney, 56, Serra Mesa, CA
– Specialist Frederick Greene, 29, Mountain City, TN
– Specialist Jason D. Hunt, 22, Norman, OK
– Staff Sgt. Amy S. Krueger, 29, Kiel, WI
– PFS Aaron T. Nemelka, 19, West Jordan, UT
– PFC Michael S. Pearson, 22, Bolingbrook, IL
– Captain Russell G. Seager, 51, Racine, WI
– PFC Francheska Velez, 21, Chicago, IL (and unborn child)
– Lt. Colonel Juanita L. Warman, 55, Pittsburgh, PA
– PFC Kham See Xiong, 23, St. Paul, MN
Cahill along with several others died while trying to charge or deter the shooter.
Greene, Nemelka, Pearson, and Xiong along with 11 of the wounded were active CrossFit athletes in the 20th Engineer Battalion, home to Lumberjack CrossFit.
